THIS IS JADE.  Like most of our crew, she’s a local. Jade grew up in Lafayette and chose the culinary pathway at McMinnville High School, graduating in 2016. She lives in McMinnville with her boyfriend Ryan (yes… our own Ryan Blackwell) and says he does all the cooking… Even though she loves food, she learned quickly that she doesn’t love the kitchen. Rather, her restaurant forte is front-of-the-house, where she says she loves the personal connection with customers that is an inherent part of service.  

Though only 21 years young, Jade is an old soul, with kind eyes and calming presence that puts everyone at ease. She’s an energy that every restaurant wishes it had.  In the midst of the inevitable lunch rush, she understands urgency but moves with purpose rather than frenzy. She is the definition of reliable, and in only a year’s time has become our go-to for stocking the counter in preparation for a busy weekend. At any given moment, she can tell you how business levels are dictating supply on hand, and is the first to replenish the coffee pots or squeeze more orange juice. And while many interpret her demeanor as quiet or even shy, our regulars will tell you that Jade can banter with the best of them.

Jade loves her family and on days off you can find her spending time with her parents, little sister and new nephew, Dean (5 months). That’s also what she loves about Community Plate, describing her co-workers as family too.
